Family travel is surging. 92% of parents plan to travel with their kids this year, and the way families travel is shifting, too. Multigenerational trips are rising, and more travelers are choosing spacious, authentic destinations over packed theme parks. Nashville, Tennessee

Nearest airport: Nashville International Airport (BNA)

Lower Broadway has free live music starting at 10 AM every day. Cheekwood in Bloom fills the estate gardens with over 250,000 tulips, daffodils, and violas each spring. Nashville Sounds baseball at First Horizon Park makes for an easy, affordable afternoon, and the city’s outdoor options include kayaking tours on the Cumberland River and ziplines at the Adventure Park at Nashville.

The National Museum of African American Music traces more than 50 genres through immersive interactive galleries, including a rap battle studio and a disco dance chamber. The Gibson Garage is free to enter, with hundreds of guitars rotating on an overhead conveyor belt and staff who encourage visitors to plug in and play.

Galveston Island, Texas

Costa Mesa, California
